“This is where I let you into my life, my music tells it all! I have nothing to hide and wear my heart on my sleeve, so to speak. Life is about sharing experiences with others and I am so thankful that I can share my life through the beautiful and creative form of songwriting. Thank you to all the people that have come into my life, for the good and hard times, for I wouldn't have anything to write about if you did not bless me with your presence and my experiences!” ~ Christine Jovan
BIOGRAPHY
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area by her parents, Joseph and Antonia, Christine Jovan was blessed to have supportive parents that allowed her to explore her musical talents and passion. Being that this was a time when public elementary schools were funded for music programs, she was able to get involved in choirs and children’s musical theater. And even though she secretly dealt with stage fright and shyness, there was something that kept her involved and connected to the performing arts. Her sister calls her an "extroverted introvert."
Life happened and there was a time that she stopped performing altogether. She fell in love, got married at the young age of 24, dropped out of college to join the workforce, bought a few houses, entertained a real estate career but realized throughout the process of following status quo and trying to live up to society's standards on how she should live her life, became lost in the process. After a divorce, losing her home to foreclosure, dealing with a downturn in the real estate market and experiencing many significant life changes simultaneously, these experiences led her directly into to the "arms" of songwriting. One early morning in July 2011, just getting settled in her humble apartment and in the peace of it all… her thoughts became lyrics and the melody revealed itself as she wrote her first song, "Sweet Rebound", a song that would completely change her life direction forever…
With this new found prolific talent, she continued to write new songs and perform them within the SF Singer/Songwriter community and built many friendships and connections along the way. In this journey, she met her now business partner and best friend, Molly Gazay. They both had a strong connection with all types of artists within the community and had the entrepreneurial spirit, passion and determination to pursue the vision of bridging the gap between the following creative outlets: film, theatre, dance, and music through their company, Diabla Productions.
